Last May Queen Musings Post

After a long week of sick and remembering that I promised to participate in a yard sale tomorrow (yikes - haven't done that before!), May Queen Musings slipped my mind for a moment!  The class will start on Sunday so there is still time to register.  I used random number generator..congratulations Kathy!  I will hop over to your blog and let you know there too...e-mail me dawn@lifelinesjournaling.com for the details...

May Queen Musings

May Queen Musings begins this weekend.  Drawing will be tomorrow night ~ any post or joining on FB or blog since the contest was announced will be included.  Hope to see you there!

On another note ~ I just posted to Facebook and wanted to include here a thought about illness.  I've been at home sick all week (coming from someone who only calls in to work when others need me) & ran across this quote which reminded me that my to-do list was bogged down in responsibility & I forgot to blow bubbles ~

My own prescription for health is less paperwork and more running barefoot through the grass. ~Terri Guillemets

Write your own "to-do" list as if you are a child and then carve out some time to follow through.

Images

I've been inspired by Shona (Artful Life Blog) so finally experimented with creating my own journal:
(I'm new to mixed media so go easy!)

And then a journal tote:

I used the picture from the Anchors post in both (although it's harder to see in the tote picture) ~ something about being anchored (centered), holding a bouquet of light really calls to me.
What images have resonated with you recently?

Minding the Moments

(graphics fairy again ~ she rocks!)

I recommend to you to take care of the minutes; for hours will take care of themselves.
Lord Chesterfield

How did you take care of your minutes this past week?  How will you take care of your minutes this coming week?

Anchors

One of the tools that I use in my workbooks and workshops is "Anchors".  I came across this picture at graphics fairy (http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/) and was so excited ~ just wish I'd had it before I published my book!  Anyway, the idea of anchors is to find those words and values that "anchor" you, keep you grounded.  This picture comes with one ~ hope.  What are some other anchors for you?

Eight Days a Week

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.
John Burroughs

If each day had more hours, what would you do with the time?  If those hours added up to an extra day, what would you name it?

Laughter

I came across this quote today and thought it was hilarious ~ "My inferiority complex is not as good as yours." (unknown)
Write about something that made you laugh out loud today.

(reminder ~ random drawing at the end of the month for a free registration to "May Queen Musings")

And the winner is....

I held the drawing for Book Notes the old-fashioned way ~ slips of paper for names &  I used a basket my daughter had made.

I let my youngest daughter draw

Congratulations Tina!  I hope you enjoy it!

Who's Upside Down?

When my daughter was small, my husband would flip her upside down & ask "who's upside down, you or me"?  I always thought it was clever how he was able to peek inside her view of the world.  So often we get sucked into tunnel vision, comfortable in what we know and forget a world that is so much richer when looked through another's lens.  What in your life needs another lens?
