There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. ~Edith Wharton
Write about times in your life you’ve been the candle or you’ve been the mirror. What will you do this week to spread light?

Dawn, I can't think of specific times, but what came to mind was my work MSW - Social Worker. I did so many different types of work and I hope I helped ingnite the flicker within others.
ReplyDeleteI've been a mirror in some way for so many people, showing them the truth of themselves. Only lately, I've let someone be a mirror for me, so that when I felt compelled to tell them that they are beautiful and capable, that they are big and bright and amazing, it all shined back to me and I remembered that I'm lovable too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sentiment. Brain's kinda all jumbly so no clear thoughts. Seeing that photo felt like I was receiving some light from you. Thank you Dawn.
ReplyDeleteWell, now you've got me thinking. People often tell me how uplifting I am(I know that sounds wierd and a bit conceited-it's not meant that way). I usually retort with a surprised look, because I don't feel that way. I have trouble pin pointing what's uplifting about me? Sometimes I think just being a true friend is one way to show the light of Christ. :)
ReplyDeleteMyrna ~ I know your work ignited others awitchtrying ~ love the idea of the reflection back
ReplyDeleteCheryl ~ so glad you enjoyed it
Adrienne ~ I think you're right
Thank you all for coming by & I think even if you can't think of any examples, your blogs often provide light for others!
